About my work as psychotherapist:

I provide individual therapy to teens and adults. I have a special interest in trauma-focused treatment using a process called EMDR . I use other interventions such as Havening and art directives as appropriate. (See my section on EMDR for more information).

I also have extensive training in attachment-based couples therapy. Increasingly, I find that EMDR can be of great assistance in resolving roadblocks that impede progress in couples therapy. I provide adjunctive EMDR sessions that can support individual and couples therapy even if you are working with other providers.

About my training and education:

I graduated from San Francisco State with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology in 1990.
I was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1993.
I was the Director of Counseling and a Clinical Supervisor with Petaluma People’s Service Center for over twenty years.
I have been in solo clinical practice since 1993.
I have trained and been supervised in EMDR by Laurel Parnell, PhD
I have been intensively trained in several attachment based couples models including Stan Tatkin’s PACT model (Psychobiological Attachment -based Couples Therapy), AEDP for Couples with David Mars and Ellen Bader’s Differentiation model.
